Essential Oils Essential oils that are used in Aromatherapy are derived from aromatic plants that have gone through a process of distillation. Many essential oils are antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti-infectious and analgesic and are beneficial for many conditions. Lavender and tea tree oils are the two oils that can be used neat on the skin, Lavender is an oil that can be used for so many conditions, an all round first aid oil. Tea tree oil has been used for many years by the Aboriginal people and has many properties, research has shown it is beneficial in the treatment of the hospital bug MRSA. Essential oils are mixed with a fixed carrier oil and massaged into the skin.
Massage Full body or back, neck and shoulders What to expect at the first session: A full consultation will be taken prior to your first session to ascertain your needs and issues, address any contraindications to any oils or any adaptations to treatment. A bespoke blend of essential oils will be formulated after the Aromatherapist has decided which oils will be most beneficial according to the issues identified in the consultation, taking into account their chemistry and safety. Aromatherapy treats the whole person - holistic - not just treating the symptoms. This is a fabulous therapy and the oils have so many properties to help many conditions. In today's society so many people are very stressed in all aspects of life and this therapy is fantastic for relaxation. You will be made comfortable on a couch, covered by towels and your dignity maintained at all times, this is your time, close your eyes and enjoy the sheer relaxation. If the pressure is too firm please make your Aromatherapist aware so she can adapt and make you as comfortable as possible. If you have any questions please make them known. Aftercare advice will be discussed and an advice sheet will be given to you.
